Description

The High-Power Laser On-the-Fly Cutting System is designed for efficient, high-volume processing of large-format materials. It provides a maximum cutting width of 3 meters and a maximum cutting length of 3 meters, offering a generous working area for demanding production applications. With its on-the-fly cutting capability, laser processing proceeds simultaneously as materials are transported into the processing zone, helping to create a smoother and more continuous production flow.

As shown in the main picture, the system features a carefully integrated layout:

• Multi-layer auto feeder – located at the foremost end of the machine, including an electric gantry crane auxiliary loading device to support efficient and automated material loading.

• Fully automatic material spreading platform – equipped with a tension-free material feeder and material laying table, helping to spread and position materials smoothly without tension.

• Pre-cut material conveying table – positioned after the spreading platform to transport materials toward the laser processing area.

• Laser cutting zone – where high-power laser cutting takes place while materials are continuously transported into the processing zone.

One of the most notable design advantages of this system is its parallel preparation capability. While one set of material undergoes laser cutting in the working area, the tension-free material feeder delivers the next batch of material onto the laying table and stands by for processing. This “cutting while preparing” workflow helps reduce idle time, improve machine utilization, and maintain steady production output.

The system is highly suitable for the mass production of various airbag bladders. It is especially advantageous for factories with limited floor space, as its integrated layout combines feeding, spreading, conveying, and laser cutting within a compact and efficient production line. This design helps manufacturers maximize the use of available floor space without sacrificing automation, productivity, or processing reliability. The followings are key points:

• Maximum cutting width: 3 meters

• Maximum cutting length: 3 meters

• High-power laser on-the-fly cutting

• Multi-layer auto feeder with electric gantry crane auxiliary loading device

• Fully automatic material spreading platform

• Tension-free material feeder and material laying table

• Pre-cut material conveying table

• Laser cutting proceeds as materials are transported into the processing zone

• Next batch prepared while current batch is being cut

• Ideal for mass production of various airbag bladders

• Especially suitable for factories with limited floor space

• Compact, integrated, and efficient production layout

Advantages

Tension-free non-contact laser processing, no fabric stretching

Traditional knife cutting and die stamping will pull and deform high-strength airbag textiles. The laser adopts contactless cutting paired with a tension-free material feeder, keeping airbag fabrics flat without fiber elongation, ensuring consistent dimensional accuracy for critical airbag components.

图5.jpg

Sealed, fray-free cutting edges for airbag fabrics

The high-temperature laser instantly melts and seals fabric cross-sections, eliminating loose yarn fraying along cutting edges. This avoids air leakage risks of airbags during deployment, fully meeting strict automotive safety standards.

图6.jpg

Ultra-precise for mass automotive production

Stable laser positioning delivers high cutting precision on large-format fabrics (max 3m width & 8m length). Uniform cutting sizes across thousands of workpieces, zero mismatches during subsequent sewing and assembly of airbag modules.

图7.jpg

No physical cutting molds, flexible for multiple airbag styles

No custom steel dies required unlike mechanical cutters. Simply import digital drawing files to switch between driver airbags, passenger airbags, side curtain airbags instantly, lowering mold costs for multi-model mass production.

图8.jpg

Support large-format integrated cutting for whole airbag panels

Max 3m cutting width and 8m cutting length accommodates full-size airbag raw fabric rolls in one single continuous cutting pass, removing extra splicing procedures and reducing secondary processing errors.

图9.jpg

High-speed continuous cutting optimized for large-volume output

Matched with automatic buffer feeding and full-length material collection platform, the machine runs uninterrupted for bulk airbag production. Far higher throughput than manual traditional cutting, greatly boosting factory productivity.

Digital nesting function maximizes fabric utilization rate

Equipped with built-in intelligent nesting software, the system automatically optimizes the layout of airbag component patterns on raw fabric. It effectively reduces blank spaces between cut parts, minimizes fabric waste and significantly cuts raw material expenditure during continuous large-batch production.

Compatible with all mainstream airbag raw materials

The laser system achieves stable, clean cutting on nylon, polyester, silicone-coated textiles and high-strength composite airbag fabrics. It delivers consistent edge sealing results without damaging functional coatings, covering nearly all substrate options adopted in modern automotive airbag production lines.

Applications

Golden Laser High-Power & Large-Format Laser Cutting System are mainly suitable for high-volume production of various airbag fabrics and cushion manufacturing. As we know, safety is the top priority for any automobile. Nowadays, an average passenger vehicle may be equipped with 6 to 7 airbags. For this reason, both high productivity and high-precision cutting are critically important for airbag fabric manufacturing. F-1 is generally applied in automotive industry, including the following materials:
